How #EnezaConcert went down

When Uncovered Band approached us to sponsor their concert in terms of marketing, we had not heard of them before. Soon after seeing the work they had put into their music and the vision that God had placed in them to reach the nations, it is not a wonder why we easily accepted to work with them.

#EnezaConcert was aimed at helping the band raise funds for their South Korea Tour. The band holds a yearly Easter concert, which is also its main event, titled Easter Evening. It is from the 2015 concert that the mission trip to Korea was first conceptualized. The guest preacher at the fourth Easter Evening concert in 2015, Pastor Jung, was inspired by the band’s performance and moved to invite them to his home country South Korea, to spread the gospel and share in his country’s rich history and culture.

So on Wednesday June 1st 2016, #EnezaConcert went down at Citam Woodley Church (which is along Ngong Road). It was Madaraka day(a holiday for us here in Kenya where we celebrate our freedom) and despite there being a lot going on, a good number of people found their way there. As soon as you walked to the entrance, you found a wide array of Uncovered band merchandise including wristbands and ‘Eneza’ branded  Tshirts. Pamphlets explaining the conception of  the band, South Korea tour as well as a little about the sponsors taking part in making the concert a success were also in plenty. On the other side of the entrance was a wide variety of snacks and drinks to keep the afternoon hunger pangs at bay. Having been cleared, we made our way into the church sanctuary.

The concert kicked off some minutes to three. Soon after prayer, the performances the crowd was eagerly waiting for kicked off. Vereso took to the stage. Now, Vereso is one very gifted lady who just released her album #WalkOn at Parklands Baptist. Her songs are just able to easily usher you into prophetic realm, like literelly J. Accompanied by her guitarist, she performed some songs off her new album as well as a few renditions to some of the songs that we all knew too well.

A few breaks here and there ensured that the gathering interacted and got to meet new friends. The MC also engaged people in intriguing questions with a lucky few winning themselves some uncovered band merchandise.

Pitson was the second personality on stage. He really got people on their feet with dance styles encapsulated with humor. Soon after the performance he had to rush to Safaricom Stadium, where Groove awards were taking place. He won the best songwriter of the year. Congratulations to him. Well the last act was Uncovered Band who left the crowd in awe at their mastery of so many genres. From worship to Salsa…these group had well prepared themselves for this.

The church pastor in the end took time to pray for success in their mission to South Korea as they obeyed God’s call to spread the Gospel to the nations.

That wound up the concert as people got time to interact as they took off while taking photos to remember this well spent day. We pray that their mission to South Korea will be of great impact and great testimonies will follow. Watch out for their album release which will be coming your way soon.
